Heart Failure

Congestive Heart Failure

A chronic condition where the heart doesn't pump blood as well as it should, causing fluid buildup and shortness of breath.

Heart failure occurs when the heart muscle is weakened or stiffened, reducing its ability to maintain adequate circulation. The four pillars of guideline-directed medical therapy for HFrEF include ACE inhibitors/ARBs/ARNI, beta-blockers, mineralocorticoid antagonists, and SGLT2 inhibitors.
