Chronic HCV Infection
A viral liver infection caused by the hepatitis C virus that can lead to chronic liver disease, cirrhosis, and liver cancer if untreated.
Hepatitis C affects approximately 2.4 million Americans, most of whom are unaware of their infection. Direct-acting antiviral (DAA) regimens now achieve cure rates exceeding 95% with 8–12 weeks of oral therapy and minimal side effects. Screening is recommended for all adults born between 1945–1965 and for those with risk factors.
