High Cholesterol
Hyperlipidemia
Elevated levels of cholesterol in the blood that increase the risk of cardiovascular disease and stroke.
Hyperlipidemia refers to elevated levels of lipids including LDL cholesterol, triglycerides, or both. It is a major modifiable risk factor for atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease. Statins are the first-line therapy, with additional agents used when statin therapy alone is insufficient.
