Obesity

A complex disease involving an excessive amount of body fat that increases the risk of health problems.

Obesity is defined as a BMI ≥30 kg/m² and is associated with cardiovascular disease, type 2 diabetes, and many other conditions. Treatment combines lifestyle intervention (diet and exercise) with pharmacotherapy and, in appropriate cases, bariatric surgery.
