Psoriasis

Chronic Plaque Psoriasis

A chronic immune-mediated skin condition causing scaly, inflamed patches, most commonly on the elbows, knees, and scalp.

Psoriasis results from an accelerated skin cell lifecycle, causing cells to build up rapidly on the surface. Topical corticosteroids and vitamin D analogues are first-line for mild disease. Moderate to severe psoriasis may require phototherapy, systemic agents like methotrexate, or biologic therapies targeting IL-17 or IL-23 pathways.
