Urinary Tract Infection

UTI

A bacterial infection of the urinary system, most commonly affecting the bladder and urethra.

Urinary tract infections are among the most common bacterial infections, particularly in women. Symptoms include burning with urination, frequency, urgency, and sometimes blood in the urine. Uncomplicated UTIs are treated with a short course of oral antibiotics. Recurrent UTIs may require prophylactic strategies or further urological evaluation.
