Rheumatoid Arthritis
RA
An autoimmune disease causing joint inflammation, pain, and structural damage if untreated.
Rheumatoid arthritis is a systemic autoimmune condition that primarily affects the small joints of the hands and feet. Early aggressive treatment with DMARDs — especially methotrexate — reduces joint damage and improves long-term outcomes. Biologic DMARDs and JAK inhibitors are options for disease that does not respond adequately to conventional therapy.
